Position Purpose:

The Cath Lab RN assists doctors and provides care to cardiac patients during the post-catheterization recovery period. Cath labs use imaging equipment designed to examine the heart's arteries to ensure there is adequate blood flow to and from the heart.

Summary of Duties (not all inclusive)

• Prepare patients for catherization, angioplasty, pacemaker implantations etc.
• Assist doctor with stent implants, cardiac pacemakers, defibrillators and more to diagnose heart disease.
• Review patient documents, perform assessment, completers required documentation in the Electronica Health Record.
• Maintain and operate equipment
• Monitor patient health status. Performs and documents ongoing assessments including observation, physical examination, laboratory/test results, and patient response to procedural intervention
• Perform proper after procedure cares to include provide patient/family education before discharge.
• Must keep patient calm and relaxed during procedure where they're required to be awake.
• Administer appropriate medication as needed.

• Texas RN licensure without restrictions (required)
• 2 years of RN nursing experience (required)
• AHA BLS (CPR) certification (required)
• AHA ACLS certification (required)
• 1 year of RN Critical care experience (preferred)
• Previous Cath Lab RN experience (preferred)
