Job Overview

This role focuses on non-clinical responsibilities, including general cleaning and the processing of ventilators and various equipment utilized by the department. Additional tasks encompass inventory management, monitoring the usage of medical gases, inspecting gas outlets as instructed, and other assigned duties.

Key Responsibilities

• Conducts cleaning and processing of instruments between procedures, adhering to established protocols to ensure proper equipment functionality.
• Disassembles and reassembles departmental equipment, performing necessary function checks and cleaning components according to set guidelines.
• Collects and delivers instruments and supplies to and from the Sterile Processing Department stock area and/or Material Management.
• Maintains adequate stock levels of supplies, including sterile and disposable items, across designated areas in the hospital, such as the Operating Room, Labor & Delivery, MedSTAR, and the Emergency Room. Replenishes depleted stock to maintain par levels and places orders as needed.

Qualifications

• Education:
  • A High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • Enrollment in a COARC-approved Respiratory Therapy program is necessary, either through a Vocational/Technical Diploma or an Associate's degree.
  • One year of relevant education may substitute for one year of required work experience.
• Experience:
  • Preferred: Less than one year of clinical rotation experience in Respiratory Therapy within an acute care hospital setting.
• Licenses and Certifications:
  • CPR certification (including BLS and NRP) for healthcare providers from either the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross is required within 90 days of hire.
  • Additional unit or specialty certifications may vary by department.

Compensation

The salary range for this position is between USD $21.34 and USD $32.72 per hour .
