Maintenance Technician

Job Description

Our client is seeking a Maintenance Technician in Vernon County, Wisconsin, to support their food manufacturing plant. This multi-craft role covers mechanical , electrical , controls , and facilities maintenance to keep production, packaging, and utility systems running safely and efficiently.


Responsibilities:

• Night shift or Day Shift Wednesday, Thursday and every other weekend (Fri, Sat, Sun) 12 Hour Shifts
• Troubleshoot and repair automated equipment including packaging, metal detection, case packing, and palletizing
• Calibrate and document sensors and instrumentation critical to food safety compliance
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance
• Ensure safety by following all company policies, including safety rules, procedures, Lock-out / Tag-out procedures, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), personal safety standards, food safety standards as well as OSHA standards
• Participate in Continuous Improvement and team projects
• Support facility maintenance including safe operation and maintenance of steam boilers, water chillers, cooling towers, well pumps, HVAC, and various other plant utility equipment

Qualifications:

• Industrial maintenance experience, preferably in food/beverage or sanitary environments
• Skill with PLCs, VFDs, instrumentation, 480 VAC power, pneumatics, hydraulics, and schematic reading
• Work environment includes onsite conditions with temperature variations, noise, chemicals, and pressurized systems
• Mechanical background in maintaining, troubleshooting, and installing bearings, seals, and gaskets
• Mechanical background in a production setting; troubleshooting and repairing gearboxes, sprocket/chains, belts, clutches, bearings, and brakes
• Strong plus if trained and experienced in compressed air systems, basic plumbing/piping, Boilers, and Hydraulics
• Manufacturing machinery experience required
