Medical Lab Scientist

We are seeking a qualified Medical Lab Scientist with strong expertise in Hematology and Chemistry. This position requires a dedicated professional who can efficiently handle laboratory tasks while ensuring quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform laboratory tests and analyses in alignment with established protocols.
• Document and report results accurately and promptly.
• Maintain and operate laboratory equipment, including Beckman automation line and various analyzers.
• Adhere to quality control and safety procedures in the laboratory environment.
• Participate in ongoing training and development to enhance skills and knowledge.
• Provide support in a rotating weekend shift as required.
• Float to different areas of the lab as necessary based on unit needs.

Work Schedule

This position requires availability for evening shifts, Monday through Friday, from 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM. Rotational weekend work is expected as part of the schedule.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year experience as a Medical Lab Scientist.
• Active MLS or MLT certification through ASCP is required.
• Proficient in Hematology and strong Chemistry experience required.
• Experience with specific laboratory equipment such as AU 5800, AU 680, DxH 900, DxH 800, DxI 800, Cobas e801, TOP 720, ABL 825 FLEX, Iris Velocity, and Iris iQ200 is preferred.
• Familiarity with Beaker and AMS software is an asset.
• Must be nicotine-free.

Additional Information

This is a 13-week contract position. Employees may be subject to shift cancellations up to twice a month, given a minimum of two hours' notice. All employees will be required to comply with facility policies and procedures.
