Job Description: - Location: Salem, VA - Unit Type: Emergency Department - Number of Beds: 27 - Staffing Levels: 50 RNs, 25 Medics General Information: - Day Shift: - 1 Charge Nurse - 5 RNs - 2-3 Medics - Additional 4-5 RNs at 11 AM - Additional 1-2 RNs at 3 PM - Night Shift: - 1 Charge Nurse - 5 RNs - 2-3 Medics - Patient Ratios: 4-6:1 - EMR System: Meditech Required Qualifications: - Must Have: - Completed 2-3 travel assignments - 2-3 years of ER experience - Preferred Skills: - Experience in high acuity ERs - Fast-paced environments with high volume - Familiarity with patient ratios of 5:1 Typical Procedures Performed: - Rapid Sequence Intubation (RSI) - Sepsis interventions - Stroke protocol with tPA administration - Central line placement - Care of psychiatric patients - Transfers to other facilities (EMTALA) Ideal Candidate Traits: - Relaxed and easygoing - Friendly and team-oriented - Respectful and professional Required Certifications: - BLS - ACLS - PALS - Preferred: TNCC, ENPC, NRP, NIH Floating Areas: None Dress Code: - Scrub Color: Navy blue or white Weekend and On Call Requirements: - No on call - 4 weekend shifts (either Friday or Saturday for nights; Saturday or Sunday for days) within a 4-week scheduling period Why Catalytic Solutions (CatSol): At CatSol, we connect dedicated therapists with rewarding assignments across the country.
