Contract Senior Accountant – Project Lead (System Implementation)

Our client in Chattanooga is seeking a strong contractor for a long-term project role related to a systems implementation. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, systems-savvy, and comfortable balancing day-to-day accounting operations with project-based work. This role will report to the controller and will be onsite in Chattanooga, TN:

Contract Length

• Temporary project role (12–18 months). Role will be benefits eligible.

Key Duties / Scope

• Lead accounting support for Lease system conversion
• Partner with the Controller to support the planning, execution, and rollout of a new leasing system (e.g., ERP, GL, or accounting platform)
• Assist with system configuration, chart of accounts design, and mapping of legacy data to the new system
• Ensure key accounting reports between the old and new systems are documented, validated, and reviewed regularly
• Lead or support data validation, testing cycles (UAT), and reconciliation between old and new systems
• Document accounting processes, workflows, and internal controls within the new system environment
• Identify process improvements and automation opportunities enabled by the new system
• Serve as a subject matter expert for accounting-related system functionality post-implementation
• Act as a bridge between accounting, IT, and data teams
• Help translate financial data into requirements for technical teams
• Support data migration and integration
