Toledo- Policy Processing Account Examiner 2 Organization: Workers' Compensation Agency Contact: Ohio Bureau of Workers' Compensation Human Resources Work Location: Toledo Service Office 1 Government Center Suite 1136 Toledo, OH 43604-0794 Primary Location: United States of America-OHIO-Lucas County-Toledo Compensation: $23.65 Schedule: Full-time Work Hours: 8:00 - 5:00 Classified Indicator: Classified Union: OCSEA Primary Job Skill: Accounting and Finance Responsibilities Provides assistance to walk‑in customers at the service office front counter. Responds to written and telephone inquiries from public and private employers regarding coverage issues. Monitors, reviews, and establishes coverage on business accounts for private and public employers. Determines if an employer is amenable to O.R.C. Section 4123.01 prior to the effective date of coverages. Examines and processes annual employer payroll reports and processes true‑up reporting or amended true‑up reporting. Identifies and refers audits to the appropriate Auditing Supervisor. Answers inquiries from government officials, bureau personnel, and other customers regarding entities, dissolution of corporate entities, payroll processing, or financial adjustments. Attends training or meetings as needed. Qualifications 24 months experience in a position involving review and processing of claims, collections, billings, payments or review of documents for accuracy, completeness or compliance with reporting guidelines, laws or rules. 16 semester or 24 quarter hours in accounting; 12 months experience in accounting or other fiscal/financial activity. 12 months experience as Accountant / Examiner 1, 66111, with state government experience commensurate with duties to be assigned. Equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications for Employment noted above. Knowledge of accounting and applicable state and/or federal regulations governing documents processed, reviewed or prepared. Public relations skills. Skill in use of calculator/adding machine, typewriter, video display terminal or personal computer and photocopier. Ability to apply principles to solve practical everyday problems, gather, collate and classify information about data, people or things, complete routine forms and prepare standard reports and business correspondence, handle routine and sensitive inquiries from and contacts with other government officials, general public, claimants and/or providers.
