Special Education Teacher in Bear, DE

Job Description

Make a difference in the lives of middle school students as a Special Education Teacher for a contract role in the 2026/2027 school year. This opportunity involves supporting a vibrant middle school community by covering a leave and working with a diverse caseload of students.

This full-time position offers the chance to play a vital part in student development, all while collaborating with a dedicated team of educators. Hours typically run from 6:45 AM to 2:45 PM, Monday through Friday, providing work-life balance and the ability to focus on meaningful instruction during the day.

We are seeking professionals who bring not only expertise, but a genuine passion for supporting students with special needs in an inclusive, supportive environment. Spanish language skills are a strong asset, though not required.

Key Qualifications:

Active or pending Delaware Special Education Teacher certification (required)
Experience or strong interest in teaching middle school students with diverse learning needs
Ability to work full-time, on-site, throughout the duration of the leave
Willingness to undergo and pass a background check and drug screening
Spanish language proficiency is beneficial

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
Provide direct instruction and support tailored to each student’s unique needs
Collaborate with general education teachers, related services, and families
Maintain accurate documentation and communicate student progress regularly
Foster a positive, inclusive classroom environment
