To support this mission, OSIT has embarked on a multi-year modernization journey, within which the Software Engineer will play a key role: working within our legacy application as we update it to a cloud-native platform which follows modern design standards.You will enjoy the flexibility to telecommute* from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges.Primary Responsibilities:Designs, codes, tests and debugs applications and components that meet all technical specifications and business requirements per assigned work itemsCollaborates closely with stakeholders, product owners, and feature team on developing requirementsRefines business requirements into technical solutions, recommend alternative technical and business approaches, and lead engineering efforts to meet aggressive timelines with optimal solutionsPerform code reviewsOperational Excellence - build, deploy, monitor, and operation of production servicesCommunicates effectively with business stakeholders and technical teamMentors' junior software engineersYou'll be rewarded and recognized for your performance in an environment that will challenge you and give you clear directions on what it takes to succeed in your role as well as provide development for other roles you may be interested in.Required Qualifications:High School Diploma/GED2+ years of experience in full lifecycle software development projects in an agile environment2+ years of hands-on technical expertise in building web applications and RESTful web services2+ years of experience in MS SQL, PostgreSQL, or other similar relational database management systems2+ years of experience in .NET Core or similar object-oriented programming language2+ years of experience with Angular, React, or other JavaScript frameworks / libraries1+ years of experience in building/supporting cloud-native applications in Azure or similar cloud service provider6+ months of experience leveraging AI tools (Git Hub, Copilot or any other similar tools) in the software development lifecycle in order to improve quality and efficiencyUnited States citizenship is required for this positionMust be able to obtain and maintain a suitability or determination of eligibility for a Confidential/Secret or Top-Secret security clearancePreferred Qualifications:Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or Computer Engineering or related field or related field OR 4 years of relevant experience will be considered in lieu of a degreeExperience with Domain Driven DesignExperience with Event Driven ArchitectureExperience with application containerization, deployment, and orchestration across environmentsExperience with CI/CD and test automationExperience building cloud-native applications in Azure or similar cloud service providerBasic understanding and ability to troubleshoot applications running within KubernetesBasic understanding of cloud infrastructure and automated provisioning & configuration managementBasic understanding of networking and internet protocolsKnowledge of Encryption, Public Key Infrastructure (PKI), understanding of OWASP*All Telecommuters will be required to adhere to UnitedHealth Group's Telecommuter Policy.Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). The salary for this role will range from $72,800 to $130,000 annually based on full-time employment.
