Description

American Traveler is hiring an MRI Technologist with 1-2 years of experience and strong Siemens 1.5T/3T scanner skills for a weekend rotation role at a Level IV Trauma and Primary Stroke Center.

Details

• Inpatient, outpatient, and ED patients requiring MRI services
• Primarily adult population, with pediatric patients accepted only if able to cooperate and hold still
• 3T exams include prostate, abdomen, pelvis, and MRCP
• 1.5T exams include extremity, brain, and spine imaging
• Less common weekend scans such as breast and cardiac are minimized unless tech is comfortable
• Utilizes Siemens Sola 1.5T and Siemens Skyra 3T scanners
• EMR: EPIC
• PACS: McKesson/Change Healthcare
• Uses Deep Resolve AI software to help reduce scan times
• 12-hour day shifts, 0800-2030, Friday/Saturday/Sunday
• 36 standard hours per week
• This is a weekend rotation role requiring coverage every weekend
• Participates in department on-call rotation (6-8 person rotation) with 30-minute response time
• No floating required
• Typically 2 MRI techs and 1 imaging patient assistant staffed per shift, running two scanners
• Lead tech coverage Monday-Friday; weekend staff work mostly independently
• Virtual radiologist support available 24/7

Requirements

• BLS and ARRT-MR or ARMRIT certification required
• Active license required if applicable
• 1-2 years of MRI experience, outpatient experience accepted with strong exam mix skill set
• Strong and recent experience with Siemens 1.5T and 3T scanners required
• Peripheral IV start and IV contrast injection skills required
• Strong knowledge of implant workup and MR safety screening practices
• EPIC EMR experience required
• Good communication and interpersonal skills with strong teamwork ability

Additional Information

• Perform MRI scans for inpatient, outpatient, and ED patients using Siemens 1.5T and 3T scanners
• Support includes a Department Supervisor, Lead Tech (weekdays), and Imaging Patient Assistant on weekends for patient transport, screening, and room turnover
• Outpatient escalations are handled by a 1st Response Team; inpatient/ED escalations by a Rapid Response Team, with Code Team support available
• Orientation includes NEO and 1-2 shifts
• Time off approvals of 3-4 days can be accommodated
• One holiday coverage requirement per contract, with 24-hour on-call holiday coverage
• Any scrub color permitted
• Free parking available
• First-time travelers accepted if they have significant and recent Siemens MRI experience
• Former employees of the health system or its subsidiaries must be separated for at least 12 months before becoming eligible for travel assignments
• No radius rules apply; local candidates accepted at the same rate
