Job Title: Warehouse CNC Operator

Job Description

The Warehouse CNC Operator operates computer numerical control (CNC) machines within a manufacturing environment to fabricate precision parts. This role involves loading parts into CNC equipment, running production cycles, monitoring machine performance, and promptly identifying malfunctions such as worn or damaged cutting tools. The Warehouse CNC Operator maintains a safe, organized, and clean work area while consistently following prescribed safety procedures and production schedules across multiple shifts.

Responsibilities

• Operate CNC machines to perform all assigned machine shop operations in a warehouse manufacturing environment.
• Load parts into CNC machines, start and monitor production cycles, and ensure parts are fabricated to required specifications.
• Detect and promptly report defective materials, questionable conditions, and equipment issues to management.
• Regularly perform milling, turning, drilling, and tapping tasks using CNC equipment and related tools.
• Inspect machined products for quality and accuracy, using appropriate measuring tools, and document inspection results.
• Complete and maintain all required paperwork and production records for machined parts.
• Maintain the work area, machines, and equipment in a clean, orderly condition, and follow all prescribed safety procedures.
• Adhere strictly to established shift schedules, including start times, breaks, lunches, and cleanup periods.
• Participate in shift-specific cleanup at the end of the workday and perform additional cleaning as directed by supervisors.
• Follow all company policies related to overtime, ensuring any additional hours are authorized and approved by supervision or upper management.
• Comply with facility rules, including restrictions on cell phone use on the production floor and required use of safety equipment.
• Attend required orientations and town hall meetings as scheduled by the company.

Essential Skills

• Experience working in a manufacturing work environment.
• Hands-on experience operating any type of CNC machine.
• Comfort with repetitive work and ability to maintain focus and quality throughout production runs.
• Ability to use a digital gage or similar measuring instruments for inspection and quality checks.
• Capability to lift up to 30 pounds safely and repeatedly as part of daily tasks.
• General mechanical aptitude and understanding of basic machine operations.
• Reliability and consistent job tenure, demonstrating commitment to previous roles.
• Attention to detail when inspecting parts and completing production paperwork.
• Ability to follow detailed schedules, procedures, and safety guidelines.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience in general labor within a manufacturing or warehouse setting.
• Experience with quality inspection processes and documentation.
• Familiarity with CNC operations such as milling, turning, drilling, and tapping.
• Comfort working in a loud production environment while following hearing protection guidelines.
• Willingness to work on 1st, 2nd, or 3rd shift according to business needs.
• Openness to growth and development within the company, including learning new machines or processes.

Work Environment

The role is based in a clean, well-organized manufacturing facility that operates on three shifts: 1st shift from 7:00am to 3:30pm, 2nd shift from 3:15pm to 11:45pm, and 3rd shift from 11:30pm to 7:15am. Each shift follows a structured schedule with designated start times, breaks, lunch periods, and end-of-shift cleanup. The production floor is loud, and the company provides ear plugs where needed; employees are permitted to wear one ear plug in accordance with safety guidelines. Steel toe boots are required as part of the dress code, and cell phones are not allowed on the production floor to ensure safety and focus. The facility remains clean and well-maintained, with fans provided during the summer months to improve comfort in warmer temperatures. Orientation sessions are scheduled for 1st shift at 7:00am and for 2nd shift at 2:30pm, ensuring new employees receive clear guidance on policies, procedures, and expectations.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Mount Clemens, MI.

The pay range for this position is $17.50 - $22.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
