Human Resources Administrator

Position Summary This role will serve as a key business partner to site leadership and employees by supporting day-to-day human resources operations, employee relations, recruiting, compliance, and performance management initiatives. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, maintains a high level of professionalism and confidentiality, and is comfortable balancing both strategic and administrative HR responsibilities. Essential Duties and Responsibilities HR Strategy and Planning Partner with site senior leadership to anticipate and address HR needs, ensuring a proactive approach to workforce planning. Talent Acquisition and Retention Develop and maintain partnerships with local high schools, technical schools, and community colleges to promote awareness of manufacturing and machining career opportunities in our area. Represent the Company at local workforce development events, career fairs, and community outreach initiatives in the Tuscaloosa area. Work closely with Director of Talent Acquisition, ensuring focus on critical roles and consistent hiring and onboarding practices. Lead and manage ALIGN’s registered apprenticeship program, including program administration, compliance tracking, apprentice development and partnership coordination. Drive apprenticeship program engagement and growth by collaborating with operational leadership mentors and local schools. Employee Relations Serve as a trusted advisor to employees and managers, providing guidance and solutions to HR-related issues. Promote a positive and inclusive work culture through effective communication and conflict resolution. Compliance and Policy Management Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations. Develop and maintain HR policies and procedures to foster a fair and respectful workplace. Training and Development Implement training programs that enhance employee’s skills and contribute to their career growth. Identify and nurture leadership talent within the organization. Identify opportunities for workforce development, develop training and work with local community for talent outreach. Implement strategies to retain and develop employees, including career development plans and performance management. Benefits and Compensation Manage employee benefits and compensation structures, ensuring competitiveness in the market. Conduct regular local labor market analysis to stay updated on industry standards. HR Analytics and Reporting Utilize HR data and metrics to make informed decisions and track effectiveness of HR and business initiatives. Prepare and present reports to leadership on HR and employment trends. Leadership Mentor, coach and develop site team to foster a culture of collaboration, excellence and continuous improvement. Qualifications Experience and Education Proven experience (5+ years) in HR roles. Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred. PHR or SHRM certification is a plus. Technical Skills In-depth knowledge of HR best practices, employment laws, and regulations. Strong leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills. Exceptional problem-solving and decision-making abilities. Proficiency in HRIS (UKG experience is preferred) and Microsoft Office Suite (specifically SharePoint, Excel, Word and PowerPoint). Ability to manage a multitude of critical deliverables and adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment. Clear, honest and articulate communicator. Physical Requirements Extended screen time. Long periods of sitting. Supervisory Responsibilities Manages subordinate management and/or experienced professional who exercise significant latitude and independence. Often heads one or more departments. Plans, conducts, and supervises assignments, generally involving larger and more important projects or multiple projects. Evaluates and determines changes in methods or procedures in assigned area of responsibility. Conducts performance evaluations and salary reviews for assigned staff. Responsible for the application of company policies. Travel Required Between the Tuscaloosa sites (1.5 miles apart).
