Licensed Clinical Addiction Specialist (LCAS or LCAS-A) 

Sanford Treatment Center

Schedule: 5:30am to 1:00pm Monday through Friday

The Mission of Sanford Treatment Center is to provide individualized counseling, education, and medication-assisted recovery to opioid-dependent adults in a safe, medically sound, and therapeutic environment. Our Mission is to provide opportunities for these individuals to explore, change, and strengthen themselves so they can lead a healthy and productive life.


Responsibilities:

  • The counselor will complete Comprehensive Clinical Assessments (CCA), ensuring that consumers are given efficient and prompt access to treatment.
  • The counselor will be responsible for preparing the Person-Centered Plan (PCP) and Crisis Plan for each Medicaid/ Medicare client. The counselor will maintain the plan, updating the PCP based on the needs of the client and/or requirement of the Medicaid/ Medicare service definition and LME/MCO.
  • The counselor is responsible for the upload of all Medicaid/Medicare-related documents to the appropriate LME/MCO provider portal.
  • The counselor is responsible for the research, corrections, and re-submission of all denied authorizations and re-authorizations. The counselor will track each Medicaid/ Medicare recipient's eligibility via NCTRACKS monthly to review individual Medicaid/ Medicare eligibility.
  • The counselor will monitor the submission of CCA, PCP, and claims to the LME/MCO via the designated LME/MCO provider portal.
  • The counselor will compile an accurate weekly report of all billable services.

Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree (M.A) in Psychology, Counseling or, Social Work or related field or Associates Degree in Counseling or related field. Will maintain their LCAS-A or LCAS, credentials.
  • Will maintain their credentialing with NCTRACKS and the designated LME/MCO.
  • Registration with the North Carolina Substance Abuse Board is required and all mandated continuing education hours to uphold licensure.
  • If in recovery, at least 2 years of continuous sobriety is required. In addition to, an ability to work independently as well as with the team, ability to maintain high level of professional ethics.
