About the Position

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Full-Time | Onsite | Day Shift (06:30–18:30) and Night Shift (18:30–06:30) available | Every other weekend required | Minimum of 2 holidays required within contract period

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care in a 33-bed ICU with an average daily census of 16, maintaining a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:2–3 for adult patients
  • Manage and titrate drips including cardiac drips, insulin, and sedation medications
  • Monitor, read, interpret, and document cardiac telemetry strips using GE monitoring equipment
  • Care for a diverse patient population including trauma, cardiac, stroke, sepsis, respiratory distress, renal failure, overdose/substance abuse, post-stent, pacemaker placement, vascular, and heart failure cases
  • Operate and troubleshoot respiratory equipment ranging from nasal cannula to mechanical ventilation
  • Float to PCU or MedSurg units as needed, maintaining comparable patient ratios (1:4 or 1:5)

Required Qualifications

  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
  • Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
  • Minimum of 1 year of ICU nursing experience
  • Ability to titrate drips and manage critically ill adult patients independently
  • Must comply with facility fingernail policy — artificial nails are prohibited in all patient care areas
  • Must be available to report to unit within 30 minutes if called back in from on-call status

Preferred Experience / Skills

  • Experience caring for trauma, cardiac, and neurological ICU patient populations
  • Familiarity with GE telemetry monitoring systems
  • Experience working with respiratory support equipment including mechanical ventilators, BiPAP, CPAP, and high-flow oxygen
