Job Title: Registered Nurse – Labor & Delivery
Location: Santa Monica, CA
Type: Contract | 13 Weeks (With high possibility of extension or permanent placement)
Shift & Schedule: Night Shift | 3x12 Hours | 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM | 36 Hours Per Week

Pay Rate:
Local Pay: $2350.00 - $2450.00 Weekly
Traveler Pay: $2800.00 - $2900.00 Weekly

Position Overview:

Navitas Healthcare, LLC is seeking a Registered Nurse – Labor & Delivery for an exciting Travel or Local job in Santa Monica, CA.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to laboring and postpartum patients.

• Assess, monitor, and manage high-acuity Labor & Delivery patients.

• Perform sterile vaginal examinations and ongoing labor assessments.

• Circulate in the operating room for obstetrical procedures and cesarean deliveries.

• Administer medications and treatments in accordance with physician orders and clinical protocols.

• Monitor fetal and maternal well-being utilizing fetal monitoring systems.

• Collaborate with obstetricians, anesthesiologists, neonatal teams, and multidisciplinary healthcare staff.

• Maintain accurate and timely documentation using Epic EMR.

• Educate patients and families regarding labor, delivery, recovery, and newborn care.

• Ensure compliance with patient safety, infection control, and facility policies.

Required Qualifications

• Associate Degree or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited nursing program.

• Active, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) License.

• BLS (Basic Life Support).

• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support).

• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program).

• AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Monitoring certification (AWHONN Advanced preferred).

• Minimum 2 years of Labor & Delivery experience (Required).

• Previous travel contract experience required; no first-time travelers.

• Must be fully competent to circulate and perform sterile vaginal exams.

• Experience working in large hospital settings preferred.

Preferred Qualifications

• AWHONN Advanced Fetal Monitoring certification.

• Previous experience in a MAGNET-designated acute care hospital.
