Travel Paramedic NeededTravel Paramedic needed for a 13-week contract near Mount Carmel, Illinois, offering up to $45 per hour and a schedule of two 24-hour shifts per week. The role provides advanced life support in county and hospital EMS settings, responding to 911 calls, stabilizing patients, and collaborating with emergency department staff.Key Responsibilities:Respond to 911 emergency calls and provide advanced prehospital care in county and hospital EMS settingsPerform comprehensive patient assessments, identify life-threatening conditions, and initiate appropriate interventionsAdminister medications, establish IV/IO access, and perform advanced airway management per EMS protocolsProvide advanced cardiac life support, including ECG interpretation, cardiac monitoring, and defibrillation when indicatedStabilize and transport critically ill or injured patients to appropriate medical facilitiesCollaborate with emergency department physicians, nurses, dispatchers, and other first responders to coordinate patient careSafely operate emergency medical equipment and assist with ambulance operationsComplete accurate patient care reports and maintain thorough documentation of assessments, treatments, and patient outcomesAssist with interfacility transfers and emergency patient transport as assignedMaintain readiness of ambulances, medical supplies, medications, and emergency equipmentFollow all applicable EMS protocols, safety regulations, infection control procedures, and patient confidentiality standardsQualifications:Completion of an accredited Paramedic education programCurrent Illinois Paramedic License or eligibility to obtain licensure before assignment beginsCurrent BLS certificationCurrent ACLS certificationValid driver's license and ability to meet ambulance operation requirementsAbility to work independently, demonstrate sound clinical judgment, and respond effectively to high-pressure emergency situationsStrong communication, teamwork, and critical-thinking skillsPreferred Skills:PALS certificationNREMT Paramedic CertificationMinimum 1-2 years of recent Paramedic experiencePrevious experience in 911 emergency response, rural EMS, county EMS, or hospital-based ambulance servicesBenefits:Competitive Pay: Earn up to $45 per hour based on experience13-Week Travel AssignmentConsistent Scheduling: Two 24-hour shifts per week, totaling 48 scheduled hoursDay/Night Coverage: Opportunity to work extended emergency response shiftsProfessional Growth: Strengthen advanced life support and emergency response skillsDedicated Recruiter Support: Work with a staffing team committed to helping you succeed throughout your assignmentMeaningful Patient Care: Make a direct impact on emergency medical services in a close-knit community
