Continuous Improvement Engineer

Main Responsibilities:

• Responsible for implementing projects to improve key processes with high impact on savings and efficiency improvements in the company.
• Establish measurement systems and data collection plans to ensure reliable, actionable performance data is available.
• Evaluate process flows, material handling, and facility layout for waste elimination and ergonomic improvement opportunities.
• Track, validate, and report CI project results including cost savings, productivity improvements, quality gains, and safety enhancements.
• Audit processes and take actions to improve them.
• Develop strategies or projects aim increasing the overall equipment efficiency.
• Drive a culture of accountability, operational excellence, and continuous improvement on the shop floor.
• Perform advanced Root Cause Analysis using methodologies such as 5 Whys, Fishbone, FMEA, Pareto, and DMAIC.
• Apply Six Sigma DMAIC methodology to resolve chronic quality problems and process capability issues.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred (Industrial Engineering, Business, Operations, Quality, or related field).
• 2+ years of experience in manufacturing/industrial operations with demonstrated continuous improvement involvement (steel/metals manufacturing preferred).
• Working knowledge of Lean principles and problem-solving tools (A3, 5-Why, 8D, Fishbone, basic statistics).
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word); ability to build trackers, charts, and presentations for leadership and shop-floor teams.
• Strong facilitation, communication, and organizational skills; ability to influence without authority and work effectively across departments.
• Lean certification (Yellow/Green Belt) or equivalent training is preferred.
