Why this job is different from the other warehouse jobs you're looking at

Most entry level warehouse jobs put you on one station and leave you there. You scan, or you pack, or you sort, and six months later you know one job.

This one touches the whole building. In a single week you might scan and sort a collection that came in Monday, shoot photos of it Tuesday, get it packed and out the door Wednesday, and post a piece of it to our social channels Thursday. It is the seat where you learn how a card gets from somebody's basement to somebody's collection, and it is the seat most of our people come through on the way to bigger roles here.

We are an authorized dealer for PSA, CGC and JSA, moving thousands of items a week across eBay, live selling platforms and the national show circuit. You do not need to know the hobby cold to start, but you should know that what you know about cards is what pays here. Product knowledge is the single biggest factor in where you start in the range and how fast you move up it.

What you will actually do

• Scan and catalog incoming inventory accurately, because a wrong number here becomes a wrong price three steps later
• Sort raw cards and memorabilia by year, set, player and category, and hold the same standard on box forty that you held on box four
• Photograph cards, autographs and memorabilia for listings and live sales, with clean, consistent images that match the item in hand
• Pack and ship orders daily, from a single card in a sleeve to a full case headed to a show, and handle high value pieces the way they deserve
• Create and post content for our social channels, including new arrivals, product highlights, show coverage and the behind the scenes of what comes through the door
• Answer customer, consignor and buyer messages clearly and promptly, and pull in help on the ones above your pay grade rather than guessing
• Keep the warehouse stocked and organized, including sleeves, boxes, shipping materials and storage, and flag what we are running low on before we run out
• Help us tighten the workflows you work inside every day, including the AI-assisted tools we use for cataloging, describing and listing inventory
• Build your product knowledge deliberately, because every set, parallel and player you learn to recognize makes you faster, more accurate and more valuable to us

Where this goes

Your first few months are about volume and repetition. You are learning our systems, our storage, our standards and our customers, and you are doing it with product in front of you, because that is the only way anyone actually learns this.

From there you start owning a station, then a category, then the decisions that come with it. Pay moves with that, and it moves fastest for the people whose product knowledge grows fastest. Our Collectibles Product Specialist role is the natural next step for the people who go deep on product, and the shipping, show and content side opens up for the people who go deep on operations. We will have that conversation honestly when you get there.

You will do well here if

• You show up on time and you finish what you start
• You can think on your feet when something does not go to plan. If a scan will not read, a label prints wrong or a package does not fit, we want you to work out a fix and keep the day moving instead of stopping to wait on a manager
• You are careful with other people's property, and you understand that a bent corner is real money
• You like moving. This is an open, active, sometimes loud warehouse and you will be on your feet
• You are comfortable on a computer and a phone, and a spreadsheet or a new piece of software does not intimidate you
• You have an eye for a decent photo, or you want to develop one
• You are curious about sports cards and memorabilia, and you want to get good enough at identifying product that it shows up in your paycheck

This is probably not the right fit if

• You want remote or hybrid. This is on-site in Amityville, and it has to be, because the product is here
• You want to do one task all day. This role moves between stations as the day demands, and that is the point of it
• You need every step spelled out, or your instinct is to hand every small problem to somebody else. We will train you properly, and then we expect you to run with it and work things out as they come up
• You are not interested in learning the product. You can be great at the physical work and still stall out at the bottom of the range if the card knowledge never comes

What we need from you

• Reliability above everything else. We are a small team and the day does not work when somebody is missing
• Attention to detail that holds up under volume
• The judgment to troubleshoot. When something is not working, we want you to think it through and try a sensible fix first, and to know which problems genuinely need a manager
• Comfort on a computer, including basic spreadsheets, email and learning new tools quickly
• Clear, polite written communication with customers and teammates
• The ability to lift and move boxes of inventory throughout the day
• Reliable transportation to our Amityville location
• 18 or older and legally authorized to work in the United States
• High school diploma

Existing hobby knowledge is worth real money to us, so tell us what you know. Collecting on your own, running your own eBay or Whatnot store out of your bedroom, or working a shop or a show counts, and so does experience in shipping, e-commerce, retail, photography or social media. We care much more about what you know and whether you are dependable than about where you learned it.

Compensation and benefits

$18 to $23 per hour. Where you start in that range is driven mainly by how much you already know about the product. Someone who can identify sets, parallels, rookies and key players on sight starts higher than someone who cannot, because that knowledge saves us time and makes us money from day one. The same thing determines how you move up, so the fastest way to raise your pay here is to get better at cards, and we will teach you if you bring the interest.
