Job Title: Shipping and Receiving Clerk Job Description

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Shipping & Receiving Clerk to join a growing manufacturing team. This individual will be responsible for receiving incoming materials, processing shipments, managing inventory transactions, and ensuring accurate documentation throughout the shipping and receiving process.

Responsibilities

• Receive, inspect, and verify incoming materials and shipments.

• Pull, package, and prepare orders for shipment.

• Create and process shipping documentation, including Bills of Lading.

• Input inventory transactions into ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, or similar software.

• Conduct cycle counts and maintain inventory accuracy.

• Coordinate with production, purchasing, and warehouse teams to ensure material availability.

• Load and unload materials using forklifts and pallet jacks.

• Maintain organized stockroom and warehouse locations.

• Ensure proper material traceability and documentation compliance.

• Follow all safety, quality, and company procedures.

Essential Skills

• Proficiency in shipping and receiving processes.

• Experience with order picking and warehouse management.

• Knowledge of ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, Costpoint, and Deltek.

• Skill in inventory management and material handling.

• Ability to operate forklifts and RF scanners.

• Familiarity with packing, crating, and domestic/international shipping processes.

• Competency in using UPS WorldShip and FedEx Ship Manager.

• Understanding of aerospace components, traceability, and lot control.

• Knowledge of AS9100 and FAA documentation requirements.

• Experience with quality documentation and Certificates of Conformance.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with ITAR and export compliance.

• Familiarity with government contracts and defense industry standards.

• Skill in Microsoft Excel for data entry and inventory control.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Decatur, AL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $22.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
