Counter Sales Associate

The Counter Sales Associate is responsible for delivering excellent customer service while supporting daily sales operations at the branch. This role serves as a key point of contact for customers, assisting with product selection, order entry, and transactions. The ideal candidate is customer-focused, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, team-driven environment. What you'll do: Assist customers with product selection, pricing, and order entry Process transactions, returns, and special orders accurately Communicate product availability, lead times, and solutions Pick, stage, load, and verify materials for customer pickup or delivery as needed Support inventory, stocking, and organization across the branch Operate equipment (e.g., forklifts) safely when required Maintain clean, safe, and organized work areas (counter, warehouse, and yard) Partner with team members to ensure accurate and efficient order fulfillment Follow all safety policies and perform other duties as assigned What you'll bring: Experience in a lumber yard, building materials, or construction supply environment Strong customer service skills with the ability to balance sales and hands-on support Ability to lift 50–60 lbs and work indoors/outdoors in varying conditions Forklift experience (or willingness to be trained) Attention to detail, reliability, and team-oriented mindset Basic computer/POS skills What you'll earn: Health Care Benefits 401(k) with employer match Paid Time Off QXO is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
