School Bus Driver

Responsibilities

• Safely operate school buses on assigned routes to transport students to and from school and extracurricular activities.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the bus to ensure it is in safe operating condition.
• Follow all traffic laws, regulations, and school transportation policies to ensure passenger safety.
• Maintain order and discipline on the bus to provide a safe and comfortable environment for all students.
• Assist students with boarding and exiting the bus safely, including those with special needs.
• Report any mechanical issues, accidents, or incidents according to company procedures.
• Communicate effectively with school officials, parents, and dispatch regarding schedules and student safety.

Requirements

• Train for valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with passenger (P) and school bus (S) endorsements.
• Clean driving record with no recent violations or accidents.
• Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills to interact with students, parents, and staff.
• Ability to remain patient, calm, and professional in all situations.
• Physical ability to assist students and perform bus inspections.
• Willingness to work flexible hours including early mornings and afternoons during the school year.
