X-Ray TechnologistWe are seeking a dedicated and skilled X-Ray Technologist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing a variety of x-ray procedures while ensuring patient care and safety throughout the process.ResponsibilitiesVerify patients' identity and review physicians' orders before beginning procedures.Utilize x-ray equipment to take radiographic images of patients' bones, tissues, and organs as per physicians' written orders.Explain x-ray procedures to patients and address any questions or concerns they may have.Position patients appropriately, which may involve lifting and moving those with limited mobility.Handle all radiologic equipment safely, ensuring radiation dose is kept as low as possible.Observe and interpret each patient's status to meet their age-specific needs.Produce high-quality diagnostic images for interpretation by the Radiologist.Notify management promptly of any damaged or malfunctioning x-ray equipment.Utilize electronic patient information systems to verify patient information and adhere to dual patient identifier procedures.Maintain accurate patient record-keeping by properly identifying images and ensuring they are sent to the PACS system correctly.RequirementsCompletion of formal training in an approved School of Radiologic Technology and current certification through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).Active New York State license or ability to obtain prior to starting.A minimum of 2 years of experience as an X-Ray Technologist.Experience in a Level 1 trauma center.Ability to lift or move patients and stand for extended periods.Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.Effective written and verbal communication skills.A patient and compassionate disposition with a team-oriented approach.Additional InformationMust be able to report within 30 minutes for on-call shifts as required, with approximately 2-3 call shifts per month.Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.Experience with C-arm/O-arm in the past 8 months is necessary.Prior experience in an operating room setting is required.
