About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: MS/Tele/PCU Float Pool Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12-Hour Days, Every Other Weekend Hours per Shift: 36 hours per week Experience: Minimum of 2 years License: Required Certifications: ACLS, BLS Must-Have: - At least 1 year of experience in a PCU setting. - Ability to manage common titratable and set rate drips including Heparin, Cardizem, Amiodarone, Nitro, Dopamine, Dobutamine, and Insulin. - Ability to interpret cardiac rhythms and dysrhythmia. Description: Prescreening and manager review are required. Clinicians must take and pass a dysrhythmia exam within two attempts prior to signing a contract. Failure to score 80% in two attempts will result in a 6-month do-not-use status. Candidates may not be employed full-time, part-time, or PRN with any associated facilities within the past year. The float pool will include MedSurg, Telemetry, and PCU patients. Patients may include geriatric and orthopedic patients, and those recovering from cardiac procedures. Charge nurses will be available on each unit and will not take patient assignments. Nurse aides will be utilized in all settings. CPAP, BiPAP, and heated high flow equipment will be available in designated areas. Educational orientation includes a general hospital overview and unit-specific training. Travelers will be required to work flexible hours, including every other weekend and holidays. Schedule notifications will be sent via text message 2 hours prior to the start of shifts. Solid color professional scrubs are required, with a transition to navy scrubs expected. Charting will be conducted using a specified system.
