Registered Nurse - Labor and Delivery

Job Description

Job Summary:
Provide specialized nursing care to high-risk obstetric, labor, delivery, and postpartum patients during 12-hour night shifts. Deliver comprehensive support for mothers and newborns, ensuring safety, comfort, and adherence to clinical protocols.

Responsibilities:

• Administer nursing assessments and monitor vital signs of high-risk obstetric and postpartum patients.
• Support labor and delivery processes, including fetal monitoring and preparation for delivery.
• Manage epidural and other patient pump equipment, ensuring proper operation and safety.
• Collaborate with healthcare team to develop and implement individualized care plans.
• Document patient care accurately using the Epic EMR system.
• Assist with neonatal care and postpartum recovery, adhering to clinical standards and protocols.

Qualifications:

• Possess a minimum of 5 years of high-risk labor and delivery nursing experience.
• Hold current OB and L&D nursing licensure with relevant certifications (BLS, ACLS, NRP).
• Demonstrate prior travel nursing experience in similar high-acuity units.
• Maintain proficiency in fetal monitoring and obstetric emergency procedures.
• Ability to work night shifts, including every other weekend and call rotation.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills in a fast-paced environment.
