About the Opportunity

High-Light Electric is expanding into Nevada, and we’re looking for a Construction Project Accounting Specialist to support this next stage of our growth.

As our Nevada operations grow, this role will help ensure the financial details behind our construction projects remain accurate, organized, and reliable. You’ll support the accounting foundation that Project Management, Operations, and Finance depend on to understand project costs and keep work moving effectively.

This is a hands-on accounting support role focused on job-cost records, invoices, AP/AR information, project documentation, reconciliations, data entry, and financial record accuracy .

This opportunity is especially well suited for someone who enjoys structured, detail-heavy work , is comfortable working with numbers and documentation, and takes pride in keeping information complete, accurate, and organized. Much of the work involves recurring accounting processes, so focus, consistency, and follow-through are essential .

Extensive construction accounting experience is not required. We are looking for someone with a solid accounting or bookkeeping foundation who can learn our systems and processes and execute the details reliably.

What You'll Do

• Support day-to-day project accounting activities, including job-cost tracking, invoice processing, billing support, and AP/AR records .
  
• Enter, review, track, and maintain vendor, subcontractor, purchase order, expense, payroll-related, and project accounting information .
• Assist with job-cost coding, cost transfers, labor allocation, equipment charges, subcontractor costs, and reconciliations .
• Review accounting and project information for missing documentation, duplicate entries, coding errors, inconsistencies, and other discrepancies , escalating questions when needed.
• Maintain accurate, organized, and audit-ready project files, accounting records, lien releases, compliance documents, and supporting backup .
• Support month-end and recurring accounting processes by gathering documentation, updating reports, reconciling assigned items, and validating data .
• Prepare and maintain spreadsheets, cost summaries, reports, schedules, logs, and project accounting backup .
• Use Vista, Procore, Excel, and other internal systems to enter information, maintain records, run routine reports, and help keep project financial data accurate.
• Assist with public works accounting documentation, including certified payroll, prevailing wage, fringe, labor compliance, and project closeout records , as assigned.

What We're Looking For

• 1–3 years of experience in accounting, bookkeeping, accounts payable/receivable, project accounting, construction administration, or a related financial support role is preferred.
  
• Working knowledge of basic accounting concepts, invoices, AP/AR, reconciliations, and financial documentation .
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy , with the ability to identify missing information, duplicate entries, coding errors, or inconsistencies.
• Comfort completing structured and recurring accounting work that requires sustained focus, consistency, and follow-through.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and the ability to enter, sort, review, and maintain spreadsheet information accurately.
• Ability to follow established procedures, meet deadlines, protect confidential information, and ask or escalate questions when information is incomplete or unclear .
• Strong organization skills and the ability to manage multiple records, requests, reports, and deadlines.
• Clear and professional written and verbal communication.
• Experience with construction accounting, job costing, Vista, Procore, public works, certified payroll, or prevailing wage documentation is helpful but not required.
• English/Spanish bilingual communication is helpful but not required.
• An Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred but not required; equivalent relevant experience or training will also be considered.

This is a detail-driven accounting role where accuracy and consistency matter. You will work with multiple projects, records, deadlines, and recurring processes while collaborating with Project Accounting, Finance, Operations, Payroll, Compliance, and other teams.

Success in this role comes from being reliable, organized, focused, and comfortable following established processes while maintaining accurate financial information.
