T&D Engineering Technician

Grant County PUD will conduct a background check and pre-employment drug screen after a contingent offer of employment has been made, if selected for this position.

Applicants meeting minimum qualifications may undergo further evaluation based on preferred qualifications and other job-related criteria. Only the most qualified candidates will be referred for further consideration.

Essential Function: Become familiar with the District's procedures, policies and computer programs. Assist senior Technicians in drafting, data storage and retrieval and survey. Learn the drawing directory structure for T&D Engineering and naming conventions for drawings, locations and equipment. Begin to learn fundamental electrical principals.

Education: Must possess a 2-year Engineering Technology Degree or have equivalent experience in the electrical utility field. Must have a valid Driver's license with no restrictions.

Experience: Minimum one year on the job experience as a draftsman. Electrical utility experience preferred, but not mandatory.

Other Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Must demonstrate the ability to write legibly and print neatly. Must have an aptitude for engineering, drafting, mathematics and survey work. Must be proficient in AutoCAD.

Physical Requirements: Must be able to perform outside work occasionally. Be able to lift 10-20 lbs. Use of hand tools is required occasionally.
