As an Entry Level Software Developer, you’ll work with cross functional teams to design, build, test, and enhance technology solutions that address client needs. You’ll gain hands‑on experience with modern development practices and AI‑enabled workflows while building strong foundations in software development, problem‑solving, and collaborative solution delivery.

Your future duties and responsibilities
How You’ll Make an Impact
• Develop a strong understanding of your client’s industry, organization, customers, business objective and technology needs.
• Build trusted relationships with clients and teammates by asking thoughtful questions, actively listening, and clarifying business and technical needs.
• Collaborate with business and technical stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into practical software solutions.
• Design, develop and maintain software features and applications using programming languages, frameworks, and development tools based on project needs.
• Work collaboratively throughout the software development lifecycle to design, code, test, debug and enhance reliable technology solutions.
• Support application integrations, data connections, databases, and other technical components based on solution and project needs.
• Troubleshoot issues, test functionality, and contribute to code reviews and continuous improvements that support quality, security, performance, and maintainability.
• Use modern and AI‑enabled development tools to support coding, research, documentation, testing, debugging, and solution development.
• Apply responsible AI practices and appropriate human oversight by reviewing and validating AI-assisted outputs for accuracy, security, quality and alignment with development standards.
• Document code, designs, and processes and collaborate with cross-functional team members throughout the project lifecycle to support successful solution delivery and ongoing improvement.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role
What You’ll Bring
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field.
• Authorization to work in the United States on a permanent basis without current or future employer sponsorship. Certain positions may also require U.S. Citizenship and/or the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government security clearance based on client or government requirements.
• Curiosity, professionalism, and a strong desire for continuous learning.
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills, with comfort navigating ambiguity and complex information.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills with the ability to simplify and explain complex ideas.
• Collaborative mindset and ability to work effectively with fast-paced cross functional teams.
• Foundational proficiency in full-stack development in at least two programming languages (one frontend and backend)
• Foundational understanding of data/AI engineering and analysis concepts and technologies, such as object-oriented programming, databases/SQL, business intelligence, artificial intelligence and machine learning, APIs, testing version control and the software development lifecycle.
• Understanding of Enterprise Resource Planning and Customer Relationship Management tools
• Hands on software development experience through coursework, internships, research, or personal projects.
• Interest in learning and responsibly using AI-enabled development tools, cloud technologies, frameworks and other emerging technologies based on project needs.
• Exposure to the public sector (i.e., State, Local, and/or Higher Education) and/or energy sectors is preferred but not required

The determination of this range includes various factors not limited to skill set level, experience and training, and licensure and certifications. To support the ability to reward for merit-based performance, CGI typically does not hire individuals at or near the top of the range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $58,000 - $95,700.
