Director of Product Development and Production

The Director of Product Development & Production will lead the development and delivery of products from concept through launch. This role oversees product strategy, cross-functional collaboration, production execution, quality standards, and on-time delivery. The ideal candidate brings strong leadership, product development, and production management experience within a fast-paced consumer products environment. Key Responsibilities Develop and execute product development and production strategies aligned with business goals. Lead and mentor cross-functional teams across product, design, engineering, sourcing, and production. Oversee the full product lifecycle, from concept development and planning through production and launch. Partner with internal teams and external suppliers to support timelines, quality, cost, and delivery objectives. Establish and maintain efficient production processes, quality-control practices, and performance standards. Monitor market trends, customer needs, and competitive activity to inform product strategy and innovation. Communicate product progress, risks, and recommendations to leadership and key stakeholders. Build productive relationships with vendors, manufacturing partners, and other external stakeholders. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Product Development, Engineering, Business, or a related field; advanced degree preferred. 8+ years of product development and production management experience, including leadership responsibility. Proven experience bringing products from concept to market. Strong knowledge of production processes, quality assurance, supply chain operations, and vendor management. Excellent leadership, communication, project management, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Experience working in a collaborative, fast-paced environment with multiple priorities. Familiarity with PLM, project-management, and relevant design or production tools is preferred.
