High School Science Teacher

Teach Biology, Chemistry, Physics, and Environmental Sciences with a focus on inquiry-based learning and student discourse. Develop students' skills in questioning, data analysis, explanation, argumentation, and conducting labs. Create a classroom environment that encourages student voice and engagement in scientific inquiry. Facilitate student-led discussions, projects, and lab activities to promote critical thinking. Collaborate with the Science department to set academic and engagement goals. Analyze student work and assessments to inform instruction and differentiate learning strategies. Build positive relationships with students and families, and participate in professional development and team meetings. Qualifications & Skills Commitment to supporting students' social, emotional, and academic growth. Experience or interest in impacting K-12 students in urban settings (1-2 years preferred). Strong content knowledge in STEM fields. Enrolled in a teacher preparation program with eligibility to meet NY certification requirements. Self-motivated, collaborative, and receptive to feedback. Additional Details: Compensation ranges from $52,000 to $68,000.
