About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse - Labor and Delivery Profession: RN Specialty: RN - Labor and Delivery Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Shift Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: 3 to 4 years License: Current license as a Registered Nurse Certifications: Current BLS certification, AWHONN Fetal Monitoring (to be obtained within six months), ACLS & STABLE preferred, Current NRP certification (to be obtained within six months) Must-Have: Basic computer skills, ability to handle emergency situations in a prompt and professional manner Description: Organizational requirements include a commitment to the safety and well-being of associates and patients. All associates must receive all required vaccinations as a condition of employment. Medical and religious exemptions may apply. This position is responsible for the care of women from childbearing through geriatric years and infants up to 28 days of life. The role includes supervising and coordinating care with other disciplines. Standards of behavior must be followed for professionalism and self-development. Education and experience requirements include: Graduate from an accredited school of nursing. At least one year of labor and delivery experience. Nursery and postpartum experience are appreciated. Physical demands and work environment characteristics may require bending, squatting, kneeling, climbing, and standing. The role involves transferring patients, including pulling, lifting, or pushing patients in various positions. Vision requirements include close vision and the ability to adjust focus. The job requires familiarity with crash carts and administering medications, including narcotics and IV fluids. Communication with the patient care team, including patients and families, is essential. Developing an individual plan of care specific to each patient's needs is a crucial responsibility. Documentation of patient assessment, plans, interventions, and responses is required. Maintaining a clean, safe environment in patient care areas is essential. Employees must perform nursing duties as outlined in the policies and procedures. Providing appropriate patient and family education is part of the role. Effective leadership through task delegation to team members is expected. Other duties may be assigned as needed.
