We’re looking for teachers who genuinely love working with children, bring positive energy into the classroom, and want to be part of a supportive team.Ballet TeacherWe are looking for an experienced Ballet Teacher with strong classical ballet training who is confident teaching dancers from foundational levels through our Ballet 5/6 advanced dancers.This teacher should be able to challenge upper-level dancers technically and artistically while continuing to reinforce strong foundations throughout all levels.Ideal candidates will:Have strong classical ballet training and previous teaching experienceBe confident teaching through Ballet 5/6 and all-level dancersHave a thorough understanding of ballet technique, terminology, alignment, musicality, artistry, and progressionKnow how to safely develop strength, flexibility, control, turns, jumps, extensions, and advanced techniqueProvide clear, detailed, and constructive correctionsCreate structured classes that challenge dancers and encourage continued growthMaintain high technical expectations while creating a positive and supportive classroomBuild confidence, discipline, musicality, artistry, and performance qualityBe dependable, professional, punctual, and a strong communicatorWork collaboratively with the rest of the Dance Texas teaching teamBe willing to substitute for other Dance Texas classes throughout the season when needed and when the class falls within their ability and experienceBecause we operate as a team, all instructors are expected to help with class coverage throughout the season when reasonably available. Teachers are also responsible for communicating their own absences as early as possible and assisting in securing appropriate coverage for their classes.Preschool / Level 1-2 TeacherWe are looking for an energetic, nurturing teacher who genuinely loves working with younger dancers and beginner-level students.This position will work with preschool-aged dancers as well as our Level 1-2 students, helping create the strong foundation they will carry with them as they progress through our program.Ideal candidates will:Be energetic, patient, nurturing, and engagingHave dance training and preferably previous teaching experienceBe comfortable working with preschool-aged children and beginner/Level 1-2 dancersUnderstand how to balance structure, learning, creativity, and funUse age-appropriate movement, terminology, exercises, music, and activitiesBe able to confidently manage a classroom of young dancersTeach foundational technique, coordination, musicality, body awareness, and classroom skillsMake dancers feel successful while still establishing appropriate expectations and boundariesCreate an environment that makes young dancers excited to return each weekBe dependable, professional, punctual, and a strong communicatorWork collaboratively with the rest of the Dance Texas teaching teamBe willing to substitute for other Dance Texas classes throughout the season when needed and when the class falls within their ability and experienceBecause we operate as a team, all instructors are expected to help with class coverage throughout the season when reasonably available.
