Investigator 3 – Oregon Medical Board Location: Portland, Oregon • Full‑time • Salary Range: $5,056.00 – $7,803.00 Overview The Oregon Medical Board (OMB) is seeking a self‑motivated, investigative professional to support the regulation of medical practice in Oregon. The role involves conducting detailed investigations in compliance with the Medical Practice Act and Oregon Administrative Rules, and assisting in the presentation of findings to the Board and courts. Responsibilities Evaluate complainants for potential violations of the Medical Practice Act and develop investigative leads. Conduct detailed investigations, including interviewing complainants, locating and interviewing witnesses, collecting medical records, and gathering evidence in oral, written, or physical form. Safeguard evidence to prevent loss or destruction and prepare cases for Board hearings or court procedures. Prepare investigative case summaries and monitor licensees under Board orders or agreements. Assist the Assistant Attorney General and other consultants in preparing and presenting cases, coordinate with the Department of Justice, and present testimony when required. Attend Board meetings, respond to Board questions, and serve as a contact point for hearings and court proceedings. Qualifications Minimum four years of recent investigative experience (within the last ten years) in law enforcement, insurance, investigative trial support, or financial fraud investigation, involving fact finding, evidence preservation, record examination, witness interviewing, and report writing suitable for administrative hearings or court use. College‑level coursework in Law Enforcement, Criminal Justice, Law, Accounting, or Auditing may substitute up to one year of the required experience, on a year‑for‑year basis. Demonstrated ability to exercise discretion, independent judgment, objectivity, and confidentiality. Valid state driver’s license and CJIS clearance.
