Job Title: Executive Housekeeper Company: Shamin Hotels Location: Ashland, VA 23005 Level: Experienced Position Type: Full Time Salary Range: $19.00 - $22.50 per hour Position Overview The Executive Housekeeper/Director of Housekeeping is the Head of Department and manages the housekeeping operations. An executive housekeeper coordinates between housekeeping crews to inspect assigned areas to ensure standards are met. The role balances priorities, solves problems, supports staff and performs housekeeping duties when required, ensuring the highest levels of comfort and hospitality for guests, driving maximum guest satisfaction and profitability. Essential Job Functions Manage housekeeping and laundry staff: hiring, firing, performance evaluations, training, and development. Establish and maintain cost control systems for staffing, linen inventories, and cleaning supplies. Enforce policies and procedures. Ensure quality services meet guest needs and enhance guest relations. Schedule staff according to labor standards and forecasted occupancy. Maintain room quality based on hotel objectives. Monitor cleanliness in rooms, storage areas, laundry, restrooms, and public areas. Compile and report accurate status of guest rooms to the front office. Enforce standard procedures for acceptance, security, and return of guest lost and found items. Maintain standard procedures for security of on-loan equipment. Maintain productivity and labor cost goals. Conduct inventories of linen, supplies, and equipment as required. Order and receive supplies to maintain adequate inventory levels. Ensure staff interact with guests in a warm and friendly manner. Perform other related duties as required. Manage lost and found items left at the hotel. Maintain flexibility to work various schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays. Physical Requirements Prolonged periods of standing and walking while overseeing operations and inspecting rooms. Ability to sit, stand, and move between floors for extended periods. Frequent lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling items up to 25–30 pounds. Frequent bending, stooping, kneeling, and reaching when inspecting rooms. Ability to push and pull housekeeping carts and equipment. Perform repetitive motions such as cleaning tasks during training and inspections. Continuously use hands and arms for writing, typing, handheld devices, and operating systems. Communicate clearly and effectively in a fast‑paced environment. Work in varying environmental conditions, including exposure to cleaning chemicals, noise, and temperature changes. Work long hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, when required. Qualifications High school diploma, GED certification, or equivalent experience preferred. Hotel housekeeping experience preferred. Basic reading, writing, and math skills. Experience with hotel brand systems preferred. Customer service skills required. Prioritization and time‑management skills required. Ability to work quickly without compromising quality.
