Health Office SecretaryOswego Community Unit School District 308 is currently seeking a qualified individual to serve as part-time Health Office Secretary. Compensation: $15.75 Per Hour. Bargaining unit participation: As this is a temporary position, it is exempt from bargaining unit participation.General Description: Health Office Secretaries are a valuable member of the Health Services Team. They offer clerical support to Building Nurses to allow focus on exceptional care to our students and staff. While Health Office Secretaries will not provide nursing care to students, some delegated tasks may be required.Duties include, but are not limited to:Collecting and tracking all medical related paperwork for studentsEntering all pertinent medical information for each student in the School Information SystemCreating and maintaining spreadsheets with student demographics on dental and vision records for state reporting purposesScheduling and assisting clerically with Vision and Hearing screeningsAssisting the Building Nurse with student visitsAssist in non-Health Office related tasks in the school as assigned by the principalHelps maintain a log of student visits to the Health OfficeSupervises any students in the Health OfficeAnswering the Health Office Phone, taking messages, contacting parents per Building Nurse directivesPreparing and mailing out any letters or forms from the Health OfficeAssisting the Building Nurse with any other tasks that may be neededQualifications:Ability to honor confidentiality expectations of the school and nurse's officeAbility to multitask in a way that is organized and with excellent follow-throughAbility to communicate effectively both verbally and in writingAbility to lift up to fifteen poundsAbility to conduct themselves in a professional manner at all timesSkill in establishing and maintaining effective relationships with a diverse range of employees, students, and parentsAbility to utilize technology to track student information, and enter information electronically both efficiently and accuratelyAbility to organize and maintain confidential student information and recordsEnjoys interacting with students and their families as well as the school staffGoogle Suites Knowledge (Google Sheets and Docs- how to open, share, and utilize email, docs, and sheets) preferredData entry experience preferredBilingual preferred
