Registered Respiratory Therapist - St.Mary - PRN

Overview This role provides respiratory care treatment, oxygen services, diagnostic testing and ventilation support services to patients ranging from neonatal to geriatric. Responsibilities include setting up RT-CRT equipment, monitoring and weaning oxygen therapy and artificial ventilation, drawing and analyzing arterial blood gases and EKGs, delivering intermittent therapy, assisting with artificial airway changes, and providing services as ordered by a physician following established policies and procedures. Responsibilities Perform routine and advanced therapeutic procedures according to established policy and procedure. Review and document all clinical information regarding each patient. Educate patients and co‑workers on procedures and treatment plans. Perform diagnostic procedures. Provide care based on physical, psycho/social, educational, safety and related criteria appropriate to the patient’s age. Adapt behavior to specific patient populations, including respect for privacy and communication style. Other related duties as required. Qualifications Associate’s degree required; Bachelor’s degree preferred. No prior work experience required. Current license as a Respiratory Therapist in the state of practice. Certification by the National Board of Respiratory Care as a Registered Respiratory Therapist. Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association. Allegiance to obtain Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) within 90 days. Computer skills and dexterity for data entry and retrieval. Effective verbal and written communication skills. Proficiency with Windows-style applications and related software. Strong interpersonal skills. Knowledge of current federal, state and local laws, accreditation standards and regulatory agency requirements related to respiratory care. Physical & Environmental Demands May lift or move objects weighing more than 100 lbs occasionally, more than 50 lbs frequently, or more than 20 lbs constantly. Must stoop, bend, reach and grab with arms and hands; maintain manual dexterity. Must sit or stand for prolonged periods and travel throughout facilities. Must work a flexible schedule, including 24/7, weekend, holiday, on‑call availability. Exposure to blood, body fluids, tissues and communicable diseases.
