About the Role

The Company is seeking a Vice President for External Affairs and Strategic Communications to play a pivotal role in shaping and advancing its external voice, public positioning, and narrative. This executive leader will be responsible for owning the organization's brand, market, and sector positioning strategy, as well as leading external affairs, executive communications, and stakeholder engagement. The successful candidate will be tasked with protecting and advancing the company's reputation, building audience engagement, and ensuring that all external messaging is aligned with the organization's mission and values. This includes overseeing a marketing and communications team, developing and executing integrated strategies, and maintaining a disciplined approach to narrative and message discipline, particularly in a contested environment. Applicants for the Vice President role at the company should have a deep and sustained commitment to the mission and values of the organization, with a focus on equity and social justice. The ideal candidate will have at least 15 years' of relevant experience, with a minimum of 10 years' in a senior leadership capacity, and a proven track record in crisis communications, brand leadership, and marketing strategy. Experience in mission-driven, advocacy, or politically active organizations is essential, as is the ability to build and execute narrative strategies. The role requires excellent judgment, strong communication skills, and the ability to manage a high-performing team and external vendor partners.
