What This Role is All About: Our client is seeking a Cloud Infrastructure Engineer to own the cloud backbone powering logistics operations across cloud and edge environments — from centralized systems to distributed nodes operating in constrained and disconnected conditions. This is not a traditional cloud role. It means taking a functional, early-stage platform and scaling it into a highly available, multi-environment system capable of coordinating with edge deployments and supporting distributed workloads across thousands of nodes in heterogeneous environments, including systems with intermittent connectivity. What You’ll Be Doing: Design, build, and operate cloud infrastructure across AWS and multi-cloud environments Deploy and manage applications on Kubernetes (EKS and other environments), ensuring scalability, reliability, and performance Build and maintain infrastructure-as-code using Terraform, enabling repeatable and auditable deployments Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines to support rapid and reliable software delivery Implement and operate observability systems (metrics, logs, tracing) to monitor system health and performance Collaborate with backend and infrastructure teams to ensure services are designed for scalability, resilience, and operability Support integration with edge-deployed systems, including synchronization, connectivity, and deployment workflows across distributed environments Debug and resolve production issues across cloud infrastructure, networking, and application layers Contribute to best practices around security, reliability, and performance across the platform What You Bring: 5+ years of experience in DevOps, SRE, infrastructure, or software engineering roles Strong experience with AWS (EC2, RDS, autoscaling, networking) in production environments Deep experience deploying and operating applications on Kubernetes Proficiency with Terraform or similar infrastructure-as-code tools Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines (e.g., CircleCI or similar) Strong scripting skills in Bash; proficiency in Python or Go is a plus Experience operating production systems with a focus on reliability, observability, and performance Strong understanding of networking fundamentals and distributed systems behavior Bonus Points: Experience working in multi-cloud environments or supporting deployments across heterogeneous infrastructure Familiarity with Kubernetes at the edge (e.g., k3s, RKE2) or deploying to constrained/on-prem systems Experience building or operating systems that interact with distributed or intermittently connected nodes Exposure to GovCloud or regulated environments Experience working closely with engineering teams to build internal platforms and developer infrastructure Benefits: Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision plans; premiums 100% covered for all employees; exceptionally low premiums for spouses and dependents Basic life insurance and disability 100% covered for all employees; option to purchase additional life insurance "Take the time off that you need, when you need it" paid time off policy — not accrual based Generous company holiday calendar including a December shutdown Supportive leave of absence program including military service, medical events, and parental leave Full 401(k) retirement plan for all full-time eligible employees Company-funded commuter benefits Highly competitive equity grants included in the majority of full-time offers as part of total compensation
