Position: Registered Nurse, PACU

Location: City, State

Shift Schedule

Day shift, 4 days x 10-hour shifts (09:00 AM - 07:30 PM).
Position is Monday through Friday.
Must be open to working any days within the specified schedule.

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) for the Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) to provide high-quality care to patients recovering from anesthesia. The ideal candidate will have a well-rounded experience across various types of surgery.

Key Responsibilities

Monitor and evaluate patients during recovery from anesthesia.
Provide appropriate care and interventions in response to patient needs.
Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Educate patients and families about post-operative care and recovery.
Document patient progress and responses to interventions accurately in the electronic medical records.

Qualifications

Minimum 2 years of experience in PACU required.
If a first-time traveler, at least 3 years of PACU experience is mandatory.
Current certifications required: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, and PALS.
No pending licenses accepted.
Experience with various surgical procedures is preferred.

Patient Demographics

Care is provided for a diverse patient population, including adolescents, adults, pediatrics, and geriatrics.

Type of Facility: Acute Care Hospital
Total Staffed Beds: 320
Daily Census: Approximately 40 patients

Additional Information

The unit supports various surgeries including general, orthopedic, neurosurgery, gynecologic, urologic, cardiovascular, GI, ENT, and plastics.
