We’re seeking a dedicated LPN – Dispensing Nurse to join our Montgomery County Methadone Center team on a PRN basis . This position is ideal for a nursing professional looking for flexible supplemental hours while making a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals receiving treatment for substance use disorders.

As a member of our Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) program, you’ll work collaboratively with medical providers and other members of the treatment team to provide patient-centered nursing care, medication support, education, and monitoring.

What You’ll Do

As an LPN – Dispensing Nurse , you will:

• Assess patients and administer medications and treatments as prescribed by medical providers.
• Monitor patients for potential adverse reactions or side effects and communicate concerns to the appropriate medical provider.
• Collect and document patient information, including vital signs, medical histories, and current medications.
• Provide patient education and support related to medication management and harm reduction practices.
• Conduct urine drug screenings and other testing as ordered by medical providers.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic health record system.
• Maintain the security of medications and the dispensing area while following applicable medication management protocols.
• Enter medication orders into the electronic record as prescribed by providers.
• Provide emergency medical treatment within the scope of nursing practice when necessary.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to professional and ethical nursing standards.
• Participate in staff meetings, supervision, quality improvement activities, and program evaluation as required.

QualificationsRequired

• Current Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Registered Nurse (RN) license in Pennsylvania
• Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience
• Knowledge of substance use disorder treatment, including Medication Assisted Treatment
• Ability to obtain security clearance for correctional facilities
• Active and valid driver’s license
• Reliable transportation
• Ability to maintain an active/current nursing license

Skills & Knowledge

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to communicate effectively with diverse populations
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a treatment team
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Proficiency with electronic health records and other databases

Schedule

• PRN
• Primarily needed to cover open Saturday morning shifts
• Occasional weekday shift coverage as needed
• Opportunity to provide additional coverage based on program needs and availability

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand, sit, walk, reach, bend, stoop, crouch, and perform repetitive motions as required
• Ability to push and pull as necessary to perform job duties
• Ability to occasionally exert up to 50 pounds of force
• Ability to perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation
