Position Overview: As a Kitchen Cook, you will be responsible for preparing hot, ready-to-eat food items that meet McKeever's quality and safety standards. You'll work closely with the deli and kitchen team to keep fresh meals available for customers while maintaining a clean and safe work area. Key Responsibilities: Prepare hot and cold food items including entrees, sides, and daily specials Follow recipes and portion guidelines to ensure consistency and quality Maintain proper food temperatures and adhere to food safety protocols Keep prep and cooking areas clean, stocked, and organized Package and label food for self-service displays or special orders Assist with opening, closing, and daily cleaning duties in the kitchen Rotate inventory and monitor expiration dates to minimize waste Communicate with deli/kitchen team to meet production needs and service goals Requirements Minimum Qualifications: Must be at least 18 years old Prior food prep or kitchen experience preferred but not required Ability to follow directions, recipes, and safety procedures Strong work ethic and team-oriented attitude Willing to obtain a food handler permit (McKeever's will assist) Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for long periods (4-8 hour shifts) Frequent lifting, reaching, and bending (up to 50 lbs) Comfortable working around hot surfaces and kitchen equipment Repetitive motions such as chopping, mixing, and stirring Employee Benefits: Daily Pay Option - Access your earnings when you need them Medical Benefits - Available to full-time team members 401(k) Program - Plan for your future with our retirement savings program On-the-Job Training - Learn kitchen procedures and skills with hands-on support Help with Food Handler Permit - We'll assist you in getting certified Why Join McKeever Price Chopper?
