Quality Specialist (HealthCare, Six Sigma Green Belt)

Position Quality Specialist (HealthCare Industry, Project Management, Lean Six Sigma Green Belt, Quality Assurance) – Houston, TX (onsite). Full‑time. Compensation Excellent Compensation with benefits. Bachelor's Degree with 7 years OR Master’s Degree with 5 years of progressively responsible and directly related work experience in a hospital or health‑care system in one or more of the following areas: Data‑driven performance improvement Quality assurance/quality improvement Role Responsible for reviewing, monitoring, and analyzing data to drive quality improvement that improves delivery of safe patient care as measured by external reporting programs such as CMS, Vizient, Leapfrog, and USNWR. Lead multi‑disciplinary, cross‑functional teams in medium‑ to large‑scale initiatives to improve healthcare delivery, patient safety, accountable care, and health equity. Combine clinical expertise with leadership skills to influence clinical processes, systems, and outcomes. Identify and execute opportunities for care delivery optimization and waste reduction using evidence‑based best practices, workflow redesign, data analysis, and change management. Identify opportunities, negotiate timelines and priorities for projects, coordinate action plans, and monitor/analyze results for projects in line with strategic goals. Education Bachelor’s Degree (REQUIRED) in a work‑related field/discipline. Master’s Degree (PREFERRED) in a work‑related field/discipline. Certifications Project Management OR Lean Six Sigma Green Belt OR Robust Process Improvement certification (REQUIRED). Experience / Knowledge / Skills Bachelor’s Degree with 7 years OR Master’s Degree with 5 years of experience. Responsibilities Lead and champion clinical quality effectiveness, improvement, patient safety, utilization, and health equity goals. Provide leadership to assigned areas, including facilitation of committees or workgroups. Actively coach cross‑functional teams and leaders on quality outcomes. Develop and implement effective analysis, research, and evaluation of quality management, cost, and patient experience metrics. Work with clinical teams and Network Performance team to develop targeted interventions. Develop standard work, including evidence‑based clinical pathways. Help translate clinical pathways into Epic order sets and decision support tools. Conduct scholarly work in clinical effectiveness and high value care, present and publish findings. Collaborate with Technology, Digital Services, and Analytics team for dashboards, reports, and data visualizations. Communicate shared learnings and ensure sustainability of quality initiatives. Create a culture of patient safety and ensure compliance with National Patient Safety Goals. Interpret, implement, and maintain internal and external reporting and standards requirements. Advise on quality improvement tools and methodologies such as PDCA, Lean, Six Sigma, and SPC. Cultivate cross‑departmental relationships to coordinate project opportunities. Provide mentorship to Quality Specialists and other MHHS leaders and staff. Lead multi‑disciplinary and multi‑department strategic quality initiatives. Maintain network with affiliate institutions, organizations, and associations. Educate staff and physicians on RPI techniques and evidence‑based care. Ensure safe care to patients, staff, and visitors, adhering to Memorial Hermann policies and standards. Promote professional growth and development, support department‑based goals. Demonstrate commitment to compassionate, personalized experiences. Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree with seven (7) years OR Master’s Degree with five (5) years of progressively responsible and directly related work experience in a large acute care hospital or health‑care system in one or more of the following areas: data‑driven performance improvement, quality assurance/quality improvement, value‑based care (clinical experience preferred), EPIC experience preferred. Demonstrated experience defining data requirements, analyzing data, and translating trends into dashboards and actionable recommendations. Proven ability to excel in high level strategy to hands‑on implementation and project management. Strong influence, attention to detail, project management, written and oral communication skills. Proficiency in Excel, Tableau, Minitab (intermediate level preferred).
