Health Information Management Associate (Entry Level) Bronx, NY Position Summary We are currently hiring Health Information Management Associates to join our HIM Department at 953 Southern Blvd. The HIM Associate oversees the protection and management of the information in the Electronic Health Record (EHR). This role is responsible for ensuring that only authorized persons access and/or receive requested information within a specified timeframe and promotes the integrity of information scanned into the EHR. Key Duties HIM Patient services (print and deliver information, assist with authorization completion) Fax, mail, and email requested medical records Maintain computerized record management system to store and process data for medical and onsite audit requests Scan information into Electronic Health Record (EHR) as per established standards Review and process all requests for medical information to ensure HIPAA and New York State laws compliance Minimum Qualifications High School Diploma required 0-1 years of experience with clerical/administrative functions, ideally in a health care setting Bilingual Spanish/English preferred Excellent communication skills and ability to provide an exceptional experience to patients Understanding of medical terminology, computer skills, and ability to multi-task Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment Compensation $18.00 hourly ($37,440 annually) Benefits Fully funded Health Insurance for yourself 73.5% funded Health Insurance for your family Dental Insurance $50,000 term life Insurance 401(k) Retirement Savings (including annual UHP Contribution) Comprehensive time off including paid vacation, personal time, sick time, and paid holidays (including your birthday) Work Environment, Location, and Schedule Applicants must be comfortable working onsite, based in the Bronx and have availability to commit to a schedule of 40 hours per week, working Monday – Friday 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Equal Opportunity Employer UHP is an equal opportunity employer.
