CMM OperatorWe are seeking an experienced CMM Operator for a full-time, long-term, direct hire opportunity in Torrance, CA. This is a nuclear energy company that focuses on using small modular reactors to produce industrial-scale clean energy and synthetic fuels. Location: Torrance, CA Salary: $40/h to $70/h depending on experience Shift: Mon-Fri from 8 am to 5 pm, weekly overtime is available Comprehensive benefit: 401(k), Dental insurance, Health insurance, Retirement plan, Vision insurance, PTO and more!Key Responsibilities for CMM OperatorOperate, optimize, and maintain CMM programs using Mitutoyo MCOSMOS software.Perform both online and offline programming within MCOSMOS.Interpret engineering drawings, CAD models, and GD&T requirements.Conduct first article inspections (FAI), in-process inspections, and final inspections.Generate and analyze inspection reports directly from MCOSMOS outputs.Troubleshoot CMM programs, measurement errors, and equipment issues.Collaborate with engineering and production teams to resolve dimensional discrepancies.Ensure compliance with quality standards such as ISO 9001, AS9100, or similar.Maintain calibration records and verify CMM system accuracy.Support continuous improvement initiatives related to inspection efficiency and accuracy.Train operators and technicians on MCOSMOS operation and best practices.Requirements for CMM OperatorHave expertise in MCOSMOS programming and operationHave strong metrology knowledgeGreat at problem-solving and troubleshootingExperience in aerospace, medical device, or precision machining industries.Familiarity with Mitutoyo CMM hardware and probe systems.Experience with CAD software (SolidWorks, NX, CATIA, etc.).Knowledge of SPC and quality data analysis.Ability to remain on your feet for extended periods while performing hands-on testing, inspection, and lab activities.Willingness to work occasional overtime or adjusted hours as business needs require.Comfortable using precision measurement tools, inspection equipment, and computer-based quality systems.
