Midlevel Commercial Disputes Associate

Job Overview A law firm seeks a mid-level associate to join its Commercial Disputes practice in Portland, OR. The ideal candidate will have a robust background in litigation and the ability to manage cases independently from inception to resolution, demonstrating exceptional legal analysis, strategic thinking, and advocacy skills. Duties Manage a caseload of complex litigation matters from start to finish. Conduct legal research and draft pleadings, motions, and briefs. Develop and implement case strategies with team members. Conduct depositions, witness interviews, and all aspects of discovery. Prepare and argue motions and briefs before state and federal courts. Communicate effectively with clients and negotiate settlements. Stay current on legal developments and best practices in litigation. Assist with business development efforts, including client presentations. Requirements Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school. Admission to the state bar and in good standing; California and Washington bar admissions are a plus. Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in litigation law, with a focus on commercial litigation preferred. Strong litigation skills, including drafting pleadings and conducting discovery. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. Strong organizational and time management skills. Experience with electronic discovery and litigation support tools preferred. Education Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
