This position performs complex warehousing functions to replenish the finished goods inventory with material from the manufacturing facilities. Fills customer orders, inspects material, packs material for shipments, and drives trucks as needed in the assigned department/location. Performs other tasksEssential Duties and ResponsibilitiesReceives all material from the manufacturing facilities and vendorsChecks and places materials in the correct binChecks material against the manifest and reports discrepanciesInforms supervisor and photographs all defective materialsCuts down over-sized laminate to fill pending ordersReads, interprets, processes, and packs ordersPerforms total skid count for loadsAssists the needs of the customerAs needed: Drives truck to destinations and returns safelyMaintains acceptable driving recordPerforms emergency roadside repairsKnowledge, Skills & AbilitiesKnowledge of computers sufficient to perform basic customer service functionsKnowledge of materials inventoriedKnowledge of packing techniquesKnowledge of proper material handling techniquesAbility to understand and follow directionsAbility to work independentlyAbility to drive a lift truck and operate a table sawAbility to read and understand customer ordersKnowledge of Department of Transportation and state regulations and local laws pertaining to vehicle operationsKnowledge of truck hauling proceduresKnowledge of hazardous waste materials and safe handling proceduresSkill in proper handling techniques for all productsSkill in required packaging techniques for all products inventoriedEducation and/or ExperienceHigh School Diploma or GEDOne year of college may be substituted for one year of required experience (maximum substitution of three years)Must have a valid Class B commercial driver's licenseHazardous Material Endorsement and Tanker EndorsementExperience3+ years relevant warehouse experience1+ years Local CDL experienceNo chargeable accidents in the last five yearsPhysical DemandsContinuous physical exertion is required, such as walking/pushing/climbing and lifting material or equipment of heavy weight (>50 lbs) Examples: grounds staff and EMSCompensation: $22.65 - $28.02/HR, DOEThe wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs.
