POSITION SUMMARY:

The Machinist is responsible for setting up and operating machinery and tools to produce metal parts according to technical drawings and specifications. This position requires strong machining knowledge, attention to quality, and flexibility to support other production areas based on workload and business needs.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Set up and operate machinery and tools to produce metal parts according to specifications. 
• Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, work instructions, dimensions, and tolerances. 
• Select appropriate tooling and determine the proper speeds and feeds for cutting different types of metal. 
• Perform machine setups and make necessary adjustments during production. 
• Inspect finished parts using micrometers, calipers, gauges, combination squares, and other precision measuring tools. 
• Monitor production and verify that parts meet established quality standards and specifications. 
• Follow ISO quality controls and complete required production and inspection documentation. 
• Identify and report equipment, tooling, production, or quality issues. 
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area. 
• Follow all company safety procedures and manufacturing practices. 
• Support other production areas and work at different stations as assigned based on workload and business needs. 
• Work independently and collaboratively to meet production schedules and deadlines. 
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:

• Minimum of three years of machinist experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. 
• Thorough knowledge of machining and metal fabrication methods, equipment, and tooling. 
• Experience setting up and operating machining equipment. 
• Strong understanding of cutting-tool speeds and feeds for different metals. 
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, dimensions, and tolerances. 
• Experience using precision measuring and inspection tools. 
• Strong attention to detail, organization, and problem-solving skills. 
• Ability to manage multiple assignments and changing production priorities. 
• Ability to work independently with limited supervision and effectively as part of a team. 
• Basic CAD experience is preferred but not required.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand for extended periods in a manufacturing environment. 
• Ability to frequently bend, reach, and perform repetitive tasks. 
• Ability to lift and move materials or parts in accordance with company safety requirements. 
• Ability to safely wear required personal protective equipment.

• Position Type: Full-Time, Non-Exempt
• Location: Franklin, MA (On-Site)
• Pay Range: $26-$32 Per Hour
