Description:

Schedule requirements include shift from 7 PM to 7 AM, with weekends and holidays as needed. Candidates may be required to float as needed. Emergency Department is a 74-bed department including a trauma bay and secure unit for behavioral health patients. The Emergency Transitional Care Unit (ETCU) has a 22-bed expansion of the Emergency Department. All beds in the ETCU have telemetry capability, and specific rooms are equipped for negative pressure as necessary. The purpose of the ETCU is as a staging area for patients evaluated in the main ED, awaiting further testing, consultation, or an inpatient bed. Staff may care for patients requiring inpatient level care in the ETCU. Nurses may also be cross-trained to perform specific tasks in the Emergency Department as needed. The facility is tobacco and fragrance-free. Candidates could care for COVID patients. The patient population includes neonates, adolescents, infants, adults, pediatrics, and geriatrics. Daily visits to the Emergency Department average around 260. Patient ratios are typically 4:1 during days and nights, with similar ratios on weekends. Candidates will need to have experience handling a variety of emergency conditions, including trauma, cardiac events, and respiratory issues.
