Senior Pricing Manager

Chicago | 3 days in the office, 2 days work from home This is an opportunity to step into a high-impact pricing leadership role within a premier professional services environment. As Senior Pricing Manager, you’ll work directly with firm leadership, partners, and cross-functional teams to shape pricing strategy, advise on complex fee arrangements, and help drive profitability and client value. You’ll lead a talented pricing team while having a voice in how the firm approaches pricing, rate strategy, RFPs, and alternative fee arrangements. Responibilities Oversee the development of hourly rate and alternative fee arrangement proposals, including financial modeling, benchmarking, and matter performance analysis. Provide strategic guidance on pricing structures, rate frameworks, negotiation strategies, and internal approval processes. Analyze fee arrangements to identify opportunities that improve competitiveness, efficiency, profitability, and overall client value. Collaborate with client legal operations teams during pricing negotiations when appropriate. Support Global Practice Leaders and the Pricing Committee by evaluating fee proposals, client data, and financial performance. Help execute the firm's annual billing rate strategy by coordinating benchmarking data, timelines, and communication across key stakeholders. Develop pricing content for RFPs, proposals, and fee renegotiations while partnering with Business Development leadership to establish best practices. Identify opportunities to streamline pricing operations through process improvement, automation, technology, and new approaches to pricing. Monitor legal pricing trends, tools, and industry benchmarks to help the firm continually evolve its pricing strategy. Lead, coach, mentor, and develop a high-performing team while creating a strong culture of collaboration and professional growth. Partner with Strategic Planning, Marketing, Financial Terms Management, Conflicts and New Business, Revenue Management, and other teams to align pricing initiatives with broader business goals. Develop training materials, tools, market data, and resources that support continued innovation and development across the Pricing team. Qualifications Required: Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance 8+ years of accounting and financial analysis experience, including significant experience in legal pricing Experience within a large law firm or professional services environment Master's degree, MBA, or CPA Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills 4+ years of supervisory experience with a track record of developing and mentoring business professionals Strong project management skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively Why You’ll Want to Be Here Annual Merit Bonus & Increase: Staff employees are eligible for an annual merit bonus and salary increase each July. 24 Days of Leave: Chicago staff employees start with 24 days of Combined Leave Time (CLT), which accrues throughout the year and is prorated during the first year.
