Assistant Custodial Director

$20 per hour

Position SummaryThe Part-Time Weekend Assistant Custodial Director serves as the Custodial Director’s second-in-command during weekend operations. This role supports both the operational and administrative functions of the department, ensuring high standards of cleanliness, event execution, locker room and laundry oversight, and staff accountability.This position plays a key leadership role in maintaining consistency, enforcing standards, and supporting departmental organization. When the Custodial Director is not present, the Assistant Custodial Director acts on their behalf in overseeing weekend operations.Schedule: Friday, Saturday, Sunday | 2:00 PM – 10:00 PM (or later as needed)Employment Type: Full-Time (possibility for position to become full time as operations become busier)Preferred: Bilingual (English/Spanish)Pay Rate: $20/hourlyEssential Duties and ResponsibilitiesOperational LeadershipOversee weekend housekeeping, locker room, laundry, and event operations.Ensure all member-facing areas remain clean, organized, and fully stocked.Conduct routine facility walkthroughs to monitor standards and staff productivity.Adjust assignments and staffing coverage as needed.Address staff performance concerns in real time and reinforce expectations.Respond professionally to member or guest concerns.Event OversightEnsure all events are set up accurately and on time according to BEOs/slips.Confirm setups meet departmental standards for layout, linens, equipment placement, and presentation.Monitor event spaces during functions to maintain cleanliness and readiness.Ensure timely and organized breakdowns, returning spaces to standard configuration.Communicate event-related issues or timeline concerns immediately.The Assistant Custodial Director is accountable for weekend event execution and setup accuracy.Locker Room & Laundry OversightEnsure the Men’s Locker Room is continuously monitored for cleanliness, organization, and supply levels.Maintain presentation standards consistent with member expectations.Oversee laundry workflow to ensure adequate linen inventory for daily operations and events.Monitor efficiency and report shortages or operational concerns proactively.Administrative Support ResponsibilitiesAssist with weekend scheduling adjustments and shift coverage coordination.Review staff timecards for accuracy before submission when assigned.Assist with documenting performance concerns or incidents.Support inventory tracking of cleaning and event supplies.Help maintain organization of event paperwork (BEOs/slips).Provide detailed end-of-shift reports including completed tasks, outstanding issues, and staffing concerns.Assist the Director with operational planning for upcoming weekends and events.Performance ExpectationsThe Assistant Custodial Director is accountable for:All weekend events being set up correctly, completely, and on time.Maintaining consistent setup standards without shortcuts.Ensuring locker rooms and common areas remain member-ready at all times.Ensuring laundry operations support weekend demands without disruption.Maintaining staff productivity, professionalism, and accountability.Communicating issues proactively and clearly.Supporting the Custodial Director in both operational execution and administrative organization.Weekend performance reflects directly on this leadership role.QualificationsPrevious supervisory or leadership experience required.Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.Must be dependable and available for scheduled weekend evening shifts.High attention to detail, especially in event setup and facility presentation.Experience in hospitality, club, housekeeping, or event operations strongly preferred.Strong organizational and time-management skills.Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred. #J-18808-Ljbffr The-Country-Club-of-Birmingham
