We are seeking a Human Resources professional with prior experience as a Human Resources Generalist who is passionate about business results and delivering a high level of client service. 

The client-facing Human Resources Associate serves Growth Operators’ clients, typically under the direction of a Growth Operators Partner, Managing Director, Senior Director or Director. Services are provided in the form of advisory services (specific projects) and outsourced services (interim or fractional roles with clients). Work performed by the Human Resources Associate on client engagements may include the following: 

• Participates in processing payroll for clients including time and attendance. Performs payroll changes, reviews and ensures approval of payroll with Finance, and assists employees and managers with their payroll questions and requests.
• Administers benefits programs and related compliance activities. Serves as the primary contact with providers and employees, ensures a smooth enrollment process for new hires and annual open enrollment.
• Maintains employee and organizational data in HRIS and other systems. Provides necessary reporting to the organization; maintains employee files according to requirements and record retention; keeps job descriptions up to date, accurate and compliant.
• Administers leaves of absence for qualifying employees, including FMLA, Military, STD, LTD, and Worker’s Compensation, and more. 
• Performs recruitment activities. Develops job descriptions, sources candidates, screens applicants, facilitates interviews, completes new hire paperwork, and performs onboarding. 
• Supports the development of employee handbooks and policies; keeps them maintained for federal and state compliance requirements. 
• Provides support for projects such as system implementations, compensation projects, and M&A transitions. 
• May maintain employee data in various client systems throughout the life cycle of employees.
• Maintains knowledge of industry trends and employment legislation and ensures client compliance.

Required Qualifications and Core Competencies

• Bachelor's degree in human resources, or equivalent
• 4+ years of human resources related experience
• Ability to use independent judgment to work with and manage priorities of multiple clients
• Critical thinking and analytical skills
• Detail oriented with strong organizational skills
• Experience with HRIS, ATS, and payroll systems (ADP, Paylocity, etc.)
• High level proficiency in MS Excel and various HR systems
• Ability to work in a fast-paced collaborative environment with clients and internal teams
• Must be able to spend substantial time in the Greater Minneapolis-St. Paul, MN area for onsite client work as needed

Preferred Experience

• PHR or SHRM-CP
• SPHR or SHRM-SCP
• Prior experience in consulting or contract work
• Experience working with private equity-backed companies
• Background in mergers, acquisitions and integrations
• Project management experience

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

• This is a full-time position with some flexibility regarding work schedule and location.
• FLSA Status: Exempt

 

Work Environment/ Travel

• The work is performed on-site at client locations, remotely from home, and at Growth Operators' office in downtown Minneapolis.
• This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as laptop computers and smartphones.
• Travel is primarily local during the business day; some out-of-town and overnight travel is possible.
